The role will focus on building a strong pipeline from K–12 to postsecondary success by aligning career programming with student interests and evolving industry demands.

Responsibilities

Specific responsibilities, goals and tasks:

  • Establish industry apprenticeship partnerships in hospitality, construction, financial services, healthcare, information technology, and other evolving industries.
  • Establish a dashboard and measurement to evaluate the success of Friendship’s efforts to support students with career planning and workforce development.
  • Enhance and expand a district-wide continuum of K–12 entrepreneurship courses and opportunities—positioning Friendship as an incubator for future entrepreneurs through hands-on experiences, student showcases, and awareness campaigns that promote ownership and innovation.
  • Collaborate with current Friendship team members to develop a 5+ year workforce planning strategy and career program structure that prepares students for both college and direct entry into the workforce. This includes aligning programs with industry needs, expanding work-based learning opportunities, and equipping students with the professional skills and certifications needed to transition successfully from high school to career, if they choose.
  • Establish and grow external relationships and partnerships around job training and vocational certifications for Friendship students.

Other Key Responsibilities:

CTE and NAF Partnership Development:

  • Identify, establish, and sustain strategic partnerships with local and national employers to expand internship opportunities for students in CTE and NAF academies.
  • Coordinate with school-based staff and career pathway teams to align internships with academic goals and student career interests.
  • Support the implementation of work-based learning experiences, including job shadows, mentoring, and project-based learning.

Dual Enrollment Program Management:

  • Develop and maintain partnerships with postsecondary institutions to increase student access to dual enrollment courses.
  • Collaborate with counseling and academic teams to support student enrollment, course alignment, and credit transferability.
  • Monitor program outcomes, student performance, and participation data to evaluate and improve dual enrollment offerings.

Program Design and Alignment:

  • Work cross-functionally with curriculum teams to ensure CTE, internship, and dual enrollment programs align with state standards, industry needs, and graduation requirements.
  • Support the development of new career pathways that reflect high-demand sectors and postsecondary alignment.
  • Lead efforts to expand access and equity in college and career programming, especially for historically underserved student populations.

Stakeholder Engagement and Compliance:

  • Serve as a liaison between K–12 leadership, higher education partners, and industry stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations related to CTE, dual enrollment, and internship programming.
  • Manage reporting requirements, budgets, and partnership agreements.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree in Education, Workforce Development, Public Administration, or a related field is strongly preferred.
  • Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in K–12 education, workforce development, CTE (Career and Technical Education), postsecondary access, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated experience developing or managing college and career readiness programs, including internships, dual enrollment, apprenticeships, or industry partnerships.
  • Proven ability to build and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders, including school staff, higher education institutions, employers, and community-based organizations.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills, with the ability to coordinate multiple programs and initiatives across schools.
  • Knowledge of workforce trends, labor market data, and pathways into high-demand industries.
  • Comfortable working with data systems to monitor program outcomes and generate actionable insights.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including experience presenting to internal and external audiences.
  • A commitment to equity and access, with a demonstrated track record of supporting underserved student populations.
  • Familiarity with relevant federal and local policies related to CTE, dual enrollment, and youth employment is a plus
