Please note the salary range for this position is $56,313 - $116,408 based on relevant experience and highest education completed.
Responsibilities
- Using the curriculum work with teachers, specialists, and school leaders to accelerate student learning, content mastery, and skill acquisition.
- Is a subject matter expert in mathematics, english and literacy, and/or working with students with special needs;
- Provides in-person classroom assistance to teachers or assists a virtual teacher with conducting classroom activities
- Pulls small groups for differentiated learning in remediation and/or acceleration;
- Work in concert with their colleagues to collect informal and formal data of students to assist with grouping and individualized support plans;
- Collaborates with grade level teams to diagnose and create individual and group learning plans;
- Provides in-person classroom assistance to teachers or assisting a virtual teacher with conducting classroom activities;
- Actively plan with fellow teachers to ensure schedule, cycles of opportunities, and student groupings are scoped out in daily and weekly intervals;
- Work one-on-one with students for intensive tutoring, credit recovery, and academic support;
- Operates technology to include cameras, learning platforms, and learning tools;
- Helps maintain order and discipline and assists in managing the behavior of students;
- Provides supervision throughout the school day including in the classroom, halls, lunch, recess, and specials;
- Performs administrative and non instructional duties, such as keeping daily attendance; and ensures all CDC/safety protocols and procedures (e.g., fire drills) are implemented and followed.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Successful completion of the Praxis II Exam
- One year of teaching experience and results demonstrating high student achievement and significant growth
- Experience working with school age children;
- Must be comfortable with basic technology equipment/tools;
- Knowledge of and ability to ensure all CDC/safety protocols and procedures are implemented and followed;
- Strong interpersonal skills, able to relate well with students, staff, administration, parents and the community
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
- Commitment to teaching students from a minority and/or lower socioeconomic background required;
- Urban teaching experience preferred
